Before knowing the preparation for cleaning stainless steel, it is worth remembering why it is so important to spend a little time cleaning and caring for it. This material is used very frequently in spaces such as the kitchen, due to its resistance to heat and corrosion.

In addition, unlike other types of metals, it has more durability, does not rust quickly in contact with moisture and does not usually develop stains. The problem is that it can deteriorate noticeably when its surface begins to become covered with grease, dust and other types of dirt.

This situation prevents the chromium in the stainless steel from reacting optimally to the oxygen in the air, which prevents the formation of the protective layer that prevents rust. Therefore, when it is not treated properly, the material is vulnerable to corrosion and wear.

What can we do to avoid this situation? How to give better care? We propose you to apply a simple technique that allows you to clean and polish any element in this material : trays, sinks, hoods, refrigerators and food preparation surfaces in the kitchen.

Instructions

  • To clean the stainless steel, you will first use the tablespoons of beeswax. Rub it on the surface and let it solidify.
  • When it’s done, sprinkle a tablespoon of coarse salt on top.
  • Then rub it in vigorously with the cotton cloth or soft towel. At this point, you will begin to notice that the steel begins to regain its shine.
  • However, for it to be completely clean, you will need to make a soapy solution. Combine the liquid soap with a little water and spray it on.
  • Then rub again with the cloth and rinse. Avoid using scouring pads and powdered soaps, as they can scratch the material.
