What are pimples?
Blackheads occur when the pores of the skin become clogged from dirt, sebum, and dead cells. They usually appear in the T-zone of the face, but are also common on the cheeks, back, and other parts of the body.
They appear as small white or yellow comedones, which can turn black from exposure to oxygen.
Those most likely to develop them are those whose sebaceous glands are overactive and produce more fat than normal. However, anyone can get them, especially during puberty.
Although it is not a condition that affects health, acne is considered a problem from an aesthetic point of view. For this reason, those who have them seek various solutions to try to reduce or eliminate them.
1. Honey and cinnamon to fight pimples
It is said that the combination of honey and cinnamon can provide a useful homemade facial to reduce blackheads, since both ingredients are attributed antibacterial and astringent properties.
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon (5 g).
- 1 cup of natural honey (125 g).
Process
- Put the two ingredients in a bowl and mix them until you get a thick paste.
- Spread the product on the affected areas of the face, leave it to act for 10 minutes. During this time you can perform gentle, circular massages with your fingertips.
- Rinse with plenty of lukewarm water.
- Avoid repeating this treatment more than once a week and ask your dermatologist what is the most recommended exfoliation frequency for your case.
Note – People with dry skin should avoid using large amounts of cinnamon as it can cause irritation.
2. Papaya
Although there is no evidence that papaya is an especially useful fruit for treating acne, due to its texture and nutritional value, many people believe that it can help soften the skin, while eliminating the amount of blackheads.
Such benefits are attributed to papain, the enzyme that has attracted the attention of various researchers around the world.
Ingredients
- 1 slice of papaya.
- 1 teaspoon of oatmeal (5 g).
Process
- Crush the papaya slice and combine it with the oatmeal.
- Apply it to your face and massage gently and in a circular motion for about ten minutes.
- Rinse with lukewarm water.
Note : There are those who use a banana instead of a papaya, as it has a similar texture.
